The 14th annual conference of the Libyan Urology Association (LUA) convened December 7 to 9, 2023, at Wagadogo Hall in Sirt, Libya (Figure 1), marking a significant milestone in the field of urology in Libya (http://www.lua14.ly/index/). It was held over 3 days in a vibrant atmosphere charged with enthusiasm and a commitment to innovation. This conference provided a platform for urologists, researchers, health care professionals, and industry experts to converge, exchange ideas, and explore the latest advancements in urological care.

The organizing committee chairman was Dr Omran Aburgiga, head of the urology department at Ibn Sina Hospital Sirt (Figure 2). Dr Refaat Abusamra was chairman of the Scientific Committee (Figure 3).

About 270 urologists from cities all over Libya and outside Libya attended the conference (Figure 4). The first day (Thursday, December 7) was full of live surgery workshops (laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, penile prosthesis surgery, thulium laser enucleation of the prostate, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, and urodynamics; Figure 5).

There were more than 70 different types presentations by national and international doctors, international society sessions (Figure 6), and a medical exhibit (Figure 7; http://www.lua14.ly/index/index.php/pages/scientific-programme).

We are proud to have a distinguished collaboration with the AUA, with a welcome video speech by Dr Jose A. Karam, professor of urology at the University of Texas and AUA assistant secretary for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (Figure 8), and a prerecorded lecture about prostate cancer screening by Dr John Thomas Wei from the University of Michigan (Figure 9).

We hope to have a continued strong collaboration with the AUA and are looking forward to meeting you again at LUA24. At the end in the closing ceremony (Figure 10), Dr Naser Alfegi, LUA president (Figure 11), announced that LUA24 will be held in Tobruk, Libya.
